Hi!
I'm peeping in from the China forum, curious about Vietnam..
Since my homecountry again will reopen Vietnam (they don't know if it's for good or just for a little while?) I'ld like to know about which criteria the country has for adoptive parents, age, sex of the babies etc.. (As they haven't opened yet, they haven't given any information out yet, but I'ld like to be ready ;-)
A lot of your questions depends on your agency. Some agencies have 50 as the cut off for adopting babies (0 - 24 months). At some it's as old as 55. Some agencies aren't allowing you to choose the sex of your child. Some do.
It seems Vietnam is pretty open to a wide range of adoptive parents, but the agencies are the ones that put the tighter restrictions on us.

Thanks for answering! :)
I was also wondering how it is with age restrictions (We haven't turned 30), having bio kids, length of marriage, income, faith etc..
Could anybody answer this?
Hi Norsk,
I presume you are from Norway, I am thrilled to hear that Norway will be adopting again from Vietnam.
Just to answer your questions:
If you already have bio children it is a help with your homestudy, you should have developed some parenting skills.
Your ages should not be a problem, you should be married 2/5 years.
If you get a financial statement stating that you are able to afford adoption that should be ok.
No faith restrictions

... you should be married 2/5 years.
Actually, unless Norway has a restriction, there are no limits on length of time you have been married.
My wife and I have been married since October of 2006 and we chose Vietnam specifically because they would allow us to adopt at such an early time in out marriage, while many other countries required a year minimum or more. We are currently waiting on referral.
Not too sure if that matters for you Norsk, but others reading this thread might get confused.
