Ok, we were asked for topics, and I have one. I am trying to adopt toddler twins, and while they will still be really young, how do you introduce the idea of God and Jesus to your older adopted children? Growing up in a Christian family, there wasn't a time I didn't know about God, and all of my friends are Christians, and those who have kids start bringing them to church as soon as possible. I know with toddlers it won't be too hard to do, but for an older child who has never gone to church or heard about God or Jesus, what is a good way to introduce them to religion?
I have friends who adopted a then 5 year old last year. They just included her in all of the family activities.
If you read the Bible as a family everyday, include them, and maybe buy a children's Bible so it is easier for them to follow along.
Take them to church and to Bible class. Let them hear you pray.
Tell them God loves them.
Use Bible stories for bed time stories.
Good question, btw!

For us having children go between 2 homes we just spent a lot of time talking about the ways of the Lord and lived it out a lot in our life (church and activites, family talks, prayer time together every day they were with us- etc) & as they grew and made some tough decisions they came back around to "hey I remember when". Its in these time we know the seeds that were planted so long ago and now they are gleaning from those seeds planted.
As youngins they had 2 very different homes, but with a lot prayer, tears and faith, God is shining and still today...
I hope this makes sense...
