Well, This is my first post here....I've been thinking about doing this for some time but...well, most of you know the feelings that one has about such things...you don't want to try in case there are no results.
I was born in Montana, Missoula to be precise..in August of 1977. My closed adoption was handled through Lutheran Social Services. As far as I know, my b-mother was 16 or 17 of Irish descent and my father was also 17 and of at least partial Native American descent.
I don't know much else.
I've had one son myself, also given up for adoption, that I have an open relationship with.
All of my life I have stared at those portions of doctor and dentist forms that ask for family medical history and wished that I had something to put there. It's more than that though...
I'm happy with my adoptive family...love them dearly, this is not about dissatisfaction. It's a case of missing pieces and I have always hoped that my birthmother is out there also feeling the missing piece.
Please contact me if any of this rings any bells.

Selenium - You have to go thru a confidential intermediary in Montana to get your records open. Contact Luthern Social Services and have them do the search for you. They will petition the courts and have your records unsealled. Then they will contact the birthparents for you. It does cost $300 to do it, they will initially ask for $200 at first and then after contact has been made with birthparents they will ask for the additional $100. I went thru this process a couple of months ago. My birthmother was found but she wants no contact, hopefully you will have better luck than I did. Luthern Social Services number is 406-549-0147 in Missoula but you always get an answering machine there. The Great Falls office is 406-761-4341, leave a message they will get back to you. Good Luck and let me know what your outcome is.
