Should expectant parents be required by law to have counselling before and or after they relinquish their rights?

ABSOLUTELY! And IMHO - it should be required PRIOR to signing our children away...as long as that counseling includes informing us of available resources to assist us in keeping our children - not just helping us deal with the emotional issues that go hand in hand with adoption.
But no matter what it includes I still think it is a MUST for everyone involved with an adoption.

I think the problem with it being a law is finding counselors who are truly going to be there to help with weighing options and not to push one way or the other.I think in the ideal world, yes, that would be ideal. I am afraid that some people would push for their own desires and not help the expectant parents to see what choices they have and help them pursue them. Make sense?
