I am new to this parish....(this is the one who wouldn't do the adoption until it was finalized) only have been a member since June. We did Isabella's baptism on the 16th of September. Saturday night I had to go to mass since we were not going to be home on Sunday. When I was leaving...one of the priests and one of the ushers seperately asked me where Isabella was? I was so touched that they remembered her! (she was home sick with my husband). Isn't that silly? It is a huge parish....and I just couldn't belive that they remembered I had a baby.

Jaytee - isn't it funny how once you bring a child to church, people start talking to you? I belong to a very small parish. I'm shy, and I don't go out of my way to mingle or get involved with things. Although our PLC has talked me into working in the Religious Ed program a couple of times, I don't reach out much. Most of the time I was in church alone - Hubby isn't Catholic, and doesn't attend Mass regularly with me. As soon as we started showing up with the baby, suddenly so many people knew my name! And if they didn't, they always smile and greet us now. If he's not with me, they ask about him. And several times when he's b eing a handful, we'll find a "church grandma" a pew behind us tries to help entertain him, or someone will put their hand on my shoulder during the Our Father, which I take to be a great show of support - kind of a 'hang in there. He's not as loud as you think he is. It's okay'.....
