It's not looking like we'll be able to adopt again through the agency we adopted Yuna from. They've changed their policies, and I guess don't do the type of situation Yuna was anymore. So I'm at a bit of a loss. We've researched international adoption some, but whenever we feel a country might be a possibility, we find something about it that doesn't fit us. There are still a couple of possibilities, but honestly, neither of us is feeling that "called" or whatever to those countries. So we came back to domestic, but really had our hearts set on working with that agency again. We haven't researched any other domestic agencies very much at this point. I feel so overwhelmed about researching domestic agencies because there are SO MANY. I also don't really know if we want to adopt domestically, anyway. So, I guess my REAL question is... when God closes one door, does another one open? And if so, how do you go about finding that door? Thanks.

(((((((jaenelle))))))))I believe that God's plan and His timing is always bigger and better than anything we can imagine. I believe He is in charge when we allow Him to be. I think one day you will look back and say, "oh wow, so THAT'S why we couldn't use them again."For now, be still, and know that He is Lord. You're in my prayers!

I know it is difficult to step back and let God do His work. I truely believe that he sends us the signs and leads us to our chosen path. Maybe he is saying that this isn't the time for you and to keep saving and in a little more time your answer will come. If it is meant to be He will lead you there. It is hard not to try and make our will known, because we are human. Sending you lots of hugs and just keep praying for your answer it will come.
I'd suggest to keep looking, step by step. Since you desire to hold God at the center of your lives, and you want Him to direct your steps, He will. So, keep steppin'! :) It may take longer than you had anticipated, but be willing to be patient while you look. God will open up what He has for you, often by closing down something that we are considering. That's an active answer from God, so take it as such and be glad. (Even when you can't see the why just yet.) I always think of how I have to redirect my kids from what they are doing and show them something that is better for them to be doing. God does the same thing.

I believe the statement "when God closes a door, he opens a window" to be true.
However...
Sometimes the window isn't in the direction WE want to go. We think we should go north, but the window opens south. This can happen no matter what the issue is. Even people who feel they are doing God's will are sometimes stumped by having that door close and a window open in a completely opposite direction.
And sometimes we think all the doors and windows are closed so we should look harder for the open window, but that statement doesn't say anything about WHEN the window will be opened. Sometimes it takes time. Perhaps being "trapped" in that room for a time is part of God's plan, too, and the window won't open until later. Looking for another window can, maybe, take time away from whatever lesson we're supposed to learn while we're waiting.
And other times we think the door is closed, when it isn't. Perhaps we don't recognize the opening, because it doesn't fit our human understanding of what an open door looks like.
And truly there are times we are expected to look hard for that open window. I haven't yet figured out how to tell the "wait patiently" times from the "look harder" times. If you figure it out, let me know!
