We were pretty excited at our house yesterday, because Lilly finally took her first independent steps!! Just had to share the news because many of you had previously encouraged me that this day WOULD eventually come. It's amazing that she didn't crawl until 16 months (did the butt scoot prior to that), but then was up and walking just 3 months later. Not only did I get to fill out the "First Steps" portion of her baby book, I also got to fill out the "First Boo-Boo" section. Yes, we had our first blood too. That didn't take long!

Whew - once they figure something out, they're ON FIRE to get to that next level, huh?I was just thinking this evening how so many of my friends' and co-workers' younger kids are talking a lot, and how excited they are to hear each new word. Our little guy isn't very verbal yet (but boy, the increasing communication with signs is really thrilling me!), and I am just trying to be patient so that when it does start, I can really relish the word moments!Happy for you and your little TODDLER!!!
Toddler behavior tantrums are two types: frustration tantrums and manipulative tantrums. If your toddler is using tantrums to get his way, give him verbal signs and use body language that says not to do tantrums. You should be aware of toddler behavior because they know how to frustrate you. :D
Well we cant do anything but try to enjoy these beautiful moments... later they will be priceless...
Louies.

Congratulations! Good job, Lilly! My oldest ds, whom I NEVER left with anyone started walking the one time I did leave him with someone. I missed it! I did get to see his very first step, but he was quite young and it was an accident (he was 7 months) and he didn't walk anymore until the one afternoon I leave him with my friend.
