How long does it usually take for the FBI fingerprint check to come back? This is the 2nd time I've done it (my prints were rejected the first time, unreadable) It was submitted on Oct. 1st , still havent heard anything....Just wondering if it will even be done before the new year comes in....We cant move forward with the approval until that comes back, our homestudy is done and waiting to be submitted, just waiting on the prints....

Well, it sounds like you are in the same situation I was. It took them from March to almost July to get it all figured out. I never had to retake it, but they kept losing it. I was told originally that it should take a couple of weeks, but we were also supposed to get license in 2 months HA! Tell your cw to call there contact person at the FBI to see if it was misplaced.

My babysitter (to-be) went to Fort Pierce in November 2006 and they have not yet been cleared. When I asked (several times) our Licensing Worker about them - she says - it all takes time. . . . . And yes, they used the live scan. Methinks, some parts of FL really need some attention paid to it's systems.
Well some good news at last , my fingerprints did finally come back, but.... now we are waiting on our CW to finish our homestudy so it can be submitted for approval.I thought that it was ready to be submitted , but no, she has more questions and still has to put the "finishing touches" on it before she sends it in.(Her words not mine) I would have thought that she had plenty of time to get that done while we were waiting on prints , but I guess we are dealing with someone whose middle name is procrastinate! She was supposed to email me on thursday with questions , bit then I got and email saying she was too busy and it would have to wait until Friday. On Friday I got no email at all , so maybe she'll get around to it today.
We werent told about livescan until after I did the prints the second time and then she said they they do use livescan , but they scan in the card instead of scanning my hand.Supposed to take the same amount of time.NOT!!! Well thats whats going on now, just waiting for her to decide she isnt too busy to finish a job that should already be done.....

Welcome to the world of fostercare. The children are easy compared to the "system". I really think they should have some sort of time limits on how long they get to procrastinate before some sort of action is taken. I have learned the hard way that Florida is slower and less efficient than other states. And I have foster friends in several different ones. May someone could spring for time management ideas for them. hehe Bless you for "hanging in there" and not getting to discouraged.
Well it's a week later and still nothing from our CW. I just dont know what to think. We should have been approved by September , but with this Cw we will still be waiting for our HS to be submitted after the first of the year. I understand that they are overworked , but this is absurd...
Just an update. My CW finally sent me all of the questions she had to have to finish our homestudy. The same ones she asked during our visits ,but I guess she didnt write the answers down. Anyway , she finally submitted our homestudy for approval on 11/27/2007. I guess it's about time since we started the homestudy in August!!!Now we are just waiting for approval. YEA!!!!! Lets see how long that takes and then we will truly be in the waiting game for a match. Hopefully we will be matched quickly but I dont really look for that to happen. At least we will be able to submit our homestudy on kids that we are interested in though.
