Do your little ones repeat everything? Mine do. yesterday when we were going to pick up JD from school, JM heard someone behind us say a bad word. He kept shouting that word (just like they did) over and over again. It took me a good little bit, but I finally got him to realize we DO NOT say that word!
Have you had something like this happen?
Anything funny your child repeats?
Same son will put his hands on his hips and say, "I am tall for my age." Of course, he is and EVERYONE tells him that all the time. ;)
The "s" word! Bug has repeated that one since he could talk. Even in speach therapy it seemed to be the one word he said consistantly...how emparrassing! I tried telling the teachers it was "sit" because he hears us tell the dogs that all the time. Don't know if they bought off on it.

That would be the word my son heard someone else say. We don't use language like that so I guess maybe since he'd never heard it it stuck out as a new word?
It is embarrassing!
When my son is doing something that I've told him not to do, I will count 1 2 3, for him to stop, he usually stops right on 3, lol. Anyway, the other day my neice was over with her 18 month old daughter. W was doing something she shouldn't and my neice started counting..1..then my ds interrupted and said 2, lol, we just had to laugh.
Oh, yeah. Embarrassments are endemic with children. My oldest Ds had articulation problems and would say 'fire fruck'. Only in our depraved world most people didn't hear the 'r' in the second word, so.... :eyebrows: And no, we don't talk like that in our home, either!!
My boys watched maybe 2 episodes of GI Joe cartoons 3 years ago. They STILL say, 'What the ....' when playing. They don't fill in the blank, just do the 'what the ... ' with the pause at the end. I suppose I should be grateful for small blessings.
The two youngest kids echo each other incessantly. One will get into trouble for making noises of some sort, and the other one will take up where that one left off...and get into trouble, too! What do they think?? Like the rules will change from one to the other? It's the weirdest thing to watch - back and forth, back and forth.
