Considering columbia adoption?

Ann Marie & John,Welcome to the Colombia forum! Colombia is a wonderful country to adopt from. I know in general, the wait can be a little longer for girls, but I'm not sure how much longer. This would probably be a good question to ask an agency. There is a sticky list at the top of the thread page that gives the names of many agencies that people are using/have used. Also, there have been a lot of threads lately that describe the Colombia process, and some of the pros and cons, so I would recommend that you read through some of those. Hi Ann Marie- There are lots of great agencies that I am sure would work with your area... feel free to check the sticky near the top of the page that is title "Agency Feeback List", you will see a list of agencies families have worked with and who you can PM to get more information about them... Requesting a gender can always add to wait times, and the wait times are also very dependent on the age of child you are interested in/qualify for... right now I think the average wait for a child 24 months and younger is around 30 months according to my agency... there are two ways to adopt from Colombia, ICBF and Casa Privadas... there are some recent posts discussing the process you can check out... Colombia is beautiful, rich in culture, friendly, and the children are beautiful in every way. It can be a long road, with lots of waiting, but even from someone who had an almost 3 year wait, I can say it was worth every day. I would love it if anyone (or multiple people) would pm me their agency stories. I have been doing research, but it seems so overwhelming and I have no idea how to pick. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
