I know many of you are long in waiting to complete or add to your family. Do you feel it is worth the risk? So much heartache can come with the journey of adopting. Explain, if you can, why the risk is worth taking.
I feel God led us to adoption. After finalizing two adoptions trhough foster He has led us to one more child. She is not yet legally free, so even though she has been in our home for five months, even though she is a part of our family, there is still the "risk" that she could go back.
Is it worth the risk? I never thought about it. We are obeying God.

I think the way I have come to look at it is that all parenting has risks. Intellectually, you know that going into it. But the risks w/ adoption are SO different than what you expect.
Do I think it's worth it? No question. Our payoff was not only the incredible joy we take in our son, but also some individual benefits. We had the chance to handle a difficult situation together, which strengthens us individually and strengthens our marriage. We had the opportunity to examine and test our faith, which strengthened that. We had the opportunity to examine and redefine what "family" means, so we take that less for granted.
Absolutely it was worth it.
