Hello, I'm new to this board. My husband and I have been married for six months. We're 36 and 33, first marriages for both of us. We're a global family (I'm American, He's a Dutch citizen) with friends and family in the US, Canada, the Netherlands, Kyrgyzstan and China. Adoption has always been part of our plan, and now after 2 miscarriages, we're looking at moving up our timetable.
That said, some countries require both partners to be US citizens. My husband is currently here on a work visa, and should have his green card by late spring, after which he will be a permanent US resident, but he will retain his Dutch citizenship.
Does anyone know the citizenship requirements for Kyrgyzstan (and/or China, our other country of interest)?
thanks!

Welcome, I can tell you that I saw things on my dossier checklist for Kyrgyzstan re: what to do if only one parent is a US citizen, so I suspect this is ok for Kyrgyzstan...you may want to contact individual agencies and ask if they can work with you...pm me if you want the name of my agency.
:) Best of luck,
Margaret
