Hi,
We are just beginning the process and have recieved info on a few agencies, but there is a significant price disparity ($10,000+). Is this typical and how do you choose the right agency for you. Any PM would be GREATLY appreciated. What did many of you pay when it was all said and done and your child was home with you? Some of the agencies are small but seem like good ones, but is that something to worry about, do people have better luck with larger agencies? Thank you for any info. Oh, by the way we are interested in a healthy(or minor repairable issues) boy 6-18 months. Also, is there better regions of the country with better baby homes or are they all comparable? I know a lot of questions, sorry.

I think you'll find that some agencies are very upfront about costs and some aren't. Honestly, I think all the costs pretty much even out in the end.
I would look for an agency that works in lots of regions because they often shut down a region or two and you would be able to switch. You also want the BEST facilitators in Kaz, with loads of experience and great reviews. best of luck!

I agree with some of the above. Yes, the cost even out in the end because the more expensive ones seem to cover more things and the less expensive ones have a list of "other expenses" that you will pay. We worked with a small agency that only worked in one region and were very pleased. They specialized in that area and I knew that we were going where they had their best people. Others with large agencies in our same region went without a facilitator or lawyer because the agencies resorces were in a different place.
Cost is absolutely a factor, but choose an agency that you feel comfortable with and will offer you the level of support that you need and want. Do you want a touchy feely agency that contacts you often or no? Do you want them to be local or are you comfortable mailing all of your paperwork to them? My sister used Wide Horizons and she absolutely loved them. They also have many different programs so if you decide that Kaz is not for you, you have other options and won't lose all of your money. Best of luck!
