any advise?

my husband and i are in the same boat. unfortunately, no advice, but welcome anyway! it's nice to talk to someone about this stuff. it would be helpful if more people posted on the local forums. it's pretty empty on here...but maybe we can start a trend. we're in the dallas area. where are you? lauren

I'm in reg 3 also. We are foster/adopt. My general advice is to contact as many agencies as you can and find out what they expect from you. Although there are state requirements about training and such, some agencies specialize in different types of kids such as babies, CC or AA or other and whether you are interested in fostering to adopt or only want to adopt and whether you want to adopt a baby or an older child. There's a lot of stuff involved. When we began I didn't know what questions to ask, so I just listened to what the agency had to say. These forums have been a super help in preparing. Everybody has a different story. Are you interested in straight adopt or fostering and do you want a baby or have you decided? I can PM you with my agency info if you are interested.
