Hi. I know I keep asking questions, but I want to get answers from other people in my situation, instead of from the agency I am working with. I don't feel like they are being honest with me about some things. After our adoption homestudy is approved, are we able to look for children throughout the state of Florida or just in our county? I was under the impression that I had to stay within my county. Thanks for the input, I appreciate all the help!!

After you are approved you will be able to search for children in any county and even in other states. Good luck ! Thats what we are doing now is searching for children online.

As I understand the process, if you stay within your county, your cw will advocate for you during the matching process. If you express an interest in a child outside of your county, but inside the state, your homestudy will be forwarded but there will be little or no involvment by your local rep. Beyond the state, I have no idea what happens.

I was told that we could only adopt in our county. If we wanted to go out of county(or state) we could pay $1500 to buy our home study and send it out ourselves. I think it depends on what county you live in. Hillsborough is not willing to do very much.
