I went to court yesterday on behalf of my grandson to see if I could get visits, i was declined, by his mom . she was also wanting to hange his full name. she only got the last name changed and had the middle dropped. but she is now wanting her suppose husband to adopt my granson , she now has full custody. My son is sitting in prison rt now. I need to see if someone can help with info on his rights

May I suggest that you ask this question in the birthparent forums. There are many first parents there who might be able to help you answer your questions and they get alot more traffic.

I believe, regardless if he is incarcerated or not, your son will have to have his parental rights terminated by a court or relinquish his rights voluntarily on paper to have some other man adopt your grandchild.
There was even a post on here recently where the bio dad was in a federal prison and they (the prison officials) were refusing to give him the relinquishment papers to sign and it was holding up an adoption.
I would suggest contacting a lawyer for some advice. Does you son want this child? Because if not, he may relinquish rights leaving you with very little hope of seeing the child.
