Cross posted to get replies, since original didn't get any...
So in my search, out of the little bit of non-id info I was able to get, I discovered that my brother's adopted father as an attorney! I know this is good news because there's all sorts of paperwork for attorneys! I know what year he was born, too, but no more than that. Just his physical description and heritage.
Anyone have any ideas where to start? I've been told the last name is "not as common as Smith or Jones or Brown but not a weird one". Gee, thanks. I mean, any bit of info is helpful to some extent, and I won't look a gift horse in the mouth... But still, I wish I knew where to go from here!
Does anyone know what to look for? Any way of referencing an attorney by their birth year? I know it's a stretch but anything's worth a try at this point!
Thanks everyone! I eagerly await replies!!! :cheer:

Name:Christop L SchellBirth Date: 20 Jul 1972Gender: Male Mother's Maiden Name: Jackson Birth County: Los Angeles If I find more I will post again. Without the lawyers name it may be tough but... Do you know if your brothers mother was your mother? If yes, did you know her surname was Jackson? Also note the birth index was Christop not Christopher... Kind regards,Dickons

Thank you. Yes, I knew all of that information. She told me when I was young that she'd had a child before me. And her maiden name is Jackson, which she uses now after her and my father's divorce.
The birth index has 170 names for his DOB and county (well, 169 b/c one of them is the one you found) and the lady at county adoptions won't tell me if his adopted name is on that list. I feel so hopeless right now :-(
