[FONT="Century Gothic"]How is everyone surviving or not LOL in this heat?
I only wish right now that they AC was in the window but I do live on a river and get a nice breeze and have hard wood floors that stay cool. Otherwise I would be staying at friends.

It was 108 here in the East Valley (Phoenix area) yesterday.
I was thinking I might come to work with my bathing suit on, but they frown on that...

I soooo want to wear shorts, as does most of the company, but alas, we must stick with business casual. no flip flops or beach shoes.
Tonight will be khakis, clogs and a nice tshirt.
We don't have central AC (nor do we live on the river!!!) so we have been staying at our BIL and SIL's while they are in Bermuda (they have central AC).
I went to the beach yesterday and got totally FRIED even though I had a bunch of sunscreen on!!
I need some relief! The heat knocks me out.
me too.
One of the girls I work with went to the beach with her sons' class yesterday and she was as red as a boiled lobster by the end of the night.
Glad to hear that it is suppossed to break tonight and the humidity is leaving!!!!!!!!!!
L, we were at Wingaersheek....There were tons of field trips there, I wonder if your coworker was there!
I forgot to mention my MIL is also staying at my BIL's house ....I NEED to get back to my own house!!!! She is driving me batty.

I think she said that they were at Salisbury.
Hopefully you will be able to get back to your house soon. Cannot wait until Thursday, they are talking back to normal temps, of 75. Atleast that is what I hear from channel 5.
ok, I was just out running errands, in Billerica, and my car registered 100 degrees. YIKES! Its only the beginning of June, I hope this is not an indication of things to come.
I have central Air and on days like today I am very glad of it. Occasiionally will think of the electric bill and cringe ,but just shove that thought away.

I LOVE wingershek beach...haven't been their for years. heard the parking was like 20.00 ...
All three ACs going here in the city and have been going around the clock. I absolutely must keep it cool here because I have a cat with asthma and after the scare last year when he had a bad attack(almost killed him) I rather pay Nstar Electric than the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital.

Dpen, Wingaersheek WAS $20...ack (and then I think of how much gas it took to get up there...).
EZ, my beloved Ajax (my bernese mountain dog) died a year ago. We spent so much money at Angel Memorial, I thought we should have a wing named after us!
I went into work last night and my car read 96. I was never so happy to hear the rain against the windows at work last night or the 3 coworkers who had to run out to their cars to put up windows! LOL
While Wingaersheek isn't that far from me I will stick to the river in the back yard and save myself the gas $ and the travel time.
I wish that we were that warm... We are sitting at 36 degrees and snow flurries today! Southeast Idaho...Send some of that warm stuff our way please!
Loveajax,
I am so sorry for your loss. My beloved Shep had to be put down in Nov 07 at 17 yrs old and I still cry. One thing I found with Angell Memorial, they are good, but they are a teaching hospital and they like to push more tests and procedures than really needed. Of course we love our furbabies and just want them well so many times we get sucked into paying such large amounts. The great thing about them is that they are open 24/7 and they do have some of the best specialists there and many vets do consult with them or refer you to them..
How old was Ajax?

EZ, thank you so much!!! Ajax was only 4.5. He ended up having a tumor on his stomach (benign)...we spent a lot fixing that and then he got diagnosed with wobblers' disease (affects the spine). (His breeder should be shot...I came to find out all the puppies in his litter had serious health problems...UGGH!).
That was the thing...I didn't mind paying for the surgeries (we had two for the Wobblers) but they ran so many and different diagnostic tests and that added up SOOOOO fast. I don't have any regrets (I would have taken out a second mortgage if I thought it would help!) but.....
I am so sorry about the loss of Shep. I can't imagine losing a pet of 17 years (I am still not over losing Ajax!).
