Thursday night, I emailed my agency to see if letters would be given out over the weekends or on Monday, since Labor Day isn't a holiday in Vietnam. I called my agency on Friday and was told I got my letter, but the baby I was referred in the soft referral was not the one I was referred in the letter referral.
Due to some rules INS imposed, the June 3 Layla was no longer available for adoption by me or any other American. She will be more than likely adopted by an European family. I pray God sends her to a good, loving Christian home.
Instead they referred another baby to me. Of course since work was so crazy in Friday, I called my agency back when literally desks were being moved out of their offices. (My agency is moving locations.) So they had no access to Layla's information. All they could remember was that she was born this year and that she is also from Da Nang.
I will post when I have more information.
And to all those who didn't get the referral or the letter before the cut off, please know my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Congratulations.
I hope the process of bringing your daughter home goes smoothly for you, despite all the turmoil.

Thank you. And I really hope so too. Good luck on your adoption.
