NC Adoption Reform in 2009 - Become a Part of the TEAM

Ladies and Gentlemen, The NC Coalition for Adoption Reform will be making MAJOR changes starting in January 2009. That is the reason for this email. Our organization is looking for people who want and can become more involved in the process. This doesn't always mean going to the legislative building, however if and when you can be there, remember it ALWAYS COUNTS. Our organization wants to put together a LEADERSHIP TEAM of people. To be on this team, you will have to give out some personal information i.e. email address and phone number where you could be reached. So others can call, or contact the right people in order to be able to obtain information. This information will be put onto our website. We are looking for people who can make up the LEADERSHIP, LEGISLATIVE and ADVOCATE part of the TEAM. People who want to help make changes in their community and STATE. Adoptees, Birth parents, Adoptive parents, Legal Advisors, Advocates for adoption, Social Workers, psychologists and eventually after the elections, State Representatives or Senators who would like to be involved in making changes in adoption. We want to put together a list of services our organization along with outside assistance can offer to others. Services such as Resource and referral data regarding upcoming legislation. Search and Support Group assistance. A list of Suggested reading material. We want to partner if possible with North Carolina Adoption agencies, and other states on reform here in NC. We would like to come up with a list of speakers for any future conferences or workshops we might put together. We desperately need someone with experience in Outreach through the media, TV, radio, magazines and newspapers. We would like a go-getter who would be able to put forth the effort to be able to find ways we can obtain money. We are not a tax-exempt group, so we need a way to get people to donate to us. These funds will go towards a great cause in the very near future.
