I've been trying to find an adoption support group or adoption playgroup, but I can't seem to find one. I know that Adoption Support Center does some stuff, but that seems to be for their adoptive couples only, and that isn't the agency we're using. I've also seen some country-specific groups, but we're adopting domestically. Anyone know of anything? I never imagined it would be so hard to find something appropriate in a city of a decent size!
I used to live in Indy. I had researched and found a group through Use the Internet to get off the Internet! - Meetup.com
I never went for that meeting as i soon left after registering. But i had once gone for the SAHM meet and it was nice.
You register and then you will find how active that group is. You can be the first one to send out e-mail to others registered in that group and say "hey lets meet at Castleton or Keystone on Wedneday evening blah blah"
All the best.

I don't know of any group currently meeting other than one for parents of Latino children. But, I'd be interested if you find anything or want to start a group. We live on the west/southwest side.

I've checked meetup.com recently, and they show that there is a waiting list dating back to 2005 of a couple of people who expressed an interest in an adoption meetup group, but there isn't any such group that is active.
I've only lived here a couple of years, but I constantly run into situations like this -- things that ought to BE here in a city this size just AREN'T. It's very strange.
