We have been matched with sibling pair of boys 8 and 9:clap: We are beside ourselves and cant wait to meet them. The match was official on 9/25 a week later we got pictures. It has been 5 weeks now and still no files. I have talked to the supervisor of the area they are in and she said that the boys files are at legal for deidentifying(redacting). She called me again on Thurs and said well they are on someones desk(finally) but she dosent know how long it will take to complete and get to our CW. Everyday DH ask "anything on the files?"
We are so anxious and would like things to work out to have the boys home for Christmas. This wait is worse than a Chineese water torture! We are past being ready I have the boys rooms finished all the bedding is brand new( I wanted them to have something that was bought JUST for them) bought clothing and coats hats and gloves...they will be coming from southern mild climate to a bit colder climate. I just guessed on sizes by their ages and their builds. Im hoping that maybe next week we will get the files and can move forward to their presentation conference and then start visits.
I am wondering if I should buy each of them a suitcase? I have heard that many children show up with their few belongings in trash bags which has to be so degrading for the children.
This process is so wrong on so many levels it just makes me ill. Hopefully during this legislative session some changes can be made to make this process move along faster.
Oh boy better stop before I get on a soapbox:arrow:
Ill keep everyone updated
Connie
That's wonderful news! I can't believe it is taking so long for you to get their files, though. I hope you get them home by Christmas

Good luck! I hope things pick up speed for you. Christmas would be so much fun with your boys home!
Talked to the lady that redacted the files and they have been completed and on the way to the CW to send to our CW. So things are moving along.....hopefully by the end of the week we will have the files in our CW little hands.
Next step I guess will be the "presentation" so we can get any questiuons answered and set up a visitation schedule. Guess it is still possible to have them here for Christmas...we sure are hoping.
Cant wait to meet them and we are 1 step closer
Connie
Connie - most agencies, if they have a choice, will choose to transition school aged children either over winter or summer vacation. I would be surprised if they didn't hurry things along to meet that timeline.

We got the files and spent this last weekend going through the reams and reams of documents...However THESE ARE STILL OUR BOYS:happydance: ....so next step is for our CW to contact their CW to set up the presentation conference. I sure hope that is within the next 2 weeks so we can set up our first meeting and visitation. Still pushing to have these boys here for Christmas:cloud9:
Connie:flower:
I am excited for you as well. Hope you get them soon. Cant wait to hear all about it.:woohoo:
Here we go again....Officially accepted the boys a week ago and now the caseworker in Houston is going on vacation for a week so pushing the presentation back farther.. Well That didnt sit well for me so called a supervisor in Houston and they are seeing if they can set up the presentation meeting without her, but with her Super hopefully will hear something on Monday...We would love to head to Houston around the 22nd to meet the boys This is so rediculous:hissy:
I WANT MY BOYS HOME!!!!!
