I'm in Beijing right now and I would like to buy some squeaky shoes. I'm just here on my own and want to buy some. I've asked the employees at my hotel and they have no idea what I am talking about. I've looked around as I was doing other shopping but I was unsuccessful. Does anyone have the name of a store or an address of where to buy these in Beijing?
Thanks.
I didn't find any in Beijing anywhere, but I did find some at Walmart in Changsha (Hunan Province). Is there a Walmart in Beijing that you could check?
(Obviously they were everywhere on Shamian Island in Guangzhou - but if you won't be going there, that won't help you much).

We found ours in GZ. If you find some, bargain them down to about $3-$4 per pair, and buy all sizes. They're all leather,a nd on the internet they're closer to 20-25 bucks per pair.
I was able to get several pairs for $.75 each at the Nikko Nikko in Guilin. (Nice ones, leather.) I don't know if Nikko Nikko is a chain or just in Guilin, but it's worth an ask.
We bought ours in Guangzhou, good luck. We loved them at first, but when we got back to the States I took the squeeks out!
We LOVED them. We were actually really sad when she outgrew the squeaky shoes. They were such a big hit that people would stop us and ask us where to get them.

I agree. I had bought one bigger pair on our trip, and they fit her now. So we recently had a GTG with other adoptive families who have been home for at least a year, and she wore them. It was fun as so many kids in the group had outgrown theirs, so they were unique again
Not sure if this helps -- but I have bought squeaky shoes on Ebay. Seems to me they are identical to the ones we bought while in China....
I'll be in Guilin on Tuesday. Is that a large department store or a smaller store? Where is it in relation to bus or train station or is it a place I can say and the taxi driver will know? Thanks.
THe Nikko Nikko is LARGE. You should be able to hop in a taxi and just say Nikko Nikko and get there fine.
