So it was just a couple of days ago that I was ready to scream to the heavens about how frustrated I was. I was not sure where we wanted to adopt from or how to start or any of it. My husband is older, I am not, and so many countries had age restrictions.
After bouts with infertility and years of trying, I was emotionally exhausted. But yesterday I spoke with a wonderful woman from Gladney who started to talk to me about Colombia, and it seems so "right". We want to take a sibling group, which they have a ton of, my husband is bilingual, the cost is lower, and my 9 year old son thinks it sounds "cool".
I did my research today and I think this is it. Did anyone else have your heart speak to you about this?

Congratulations on your decision! We felt pulled to Colombia as soon as we decided to adopt, too. In fact, Colombia was on the first agency website we looked at and after we saw it we barely looked at any other countries. Colombia sounds like a great fit for your family. We had a wonderful experience in Colombia and can't wait to go back some day!I hope you have a smooth process and welcome to the forums!Erin

It's wonderful to hear that you have finally found a country/ program that is a perfect fit for you! We researched many countries when we first started considering adoption, and the only country that our hearts were truly drawn to and that we had a peace about was Colombia. And now that we have Anna, we know it was because she is the baby that God had planned all along to give us. Colombia is a beautiful country and the people are so warm and friendly. Good luck to you and keep us posted on your journey to your children!
Our hearts spoke to us as well. When people ask us why we decided to adopt, I try to explain that it just felt right. I think only fellow adoptive moms and dads can truly understand that feeling. After years of trying and some fertility testing, we decided to not do infertility treatments. Adoption was the natural choice for us. The hardest part is the waiting!
