Anyone got any good ideas for occupying a two year old while I am wrapping Christmas gifts? She wants to be everywhere I am and do everything I do. Last week I tried wrapping three birthday gifts and it took a while with her, and some of the ribbon has rolled off the spool with her. Plus scissors, tape, and all.
How could she "help" me wrap?
Like last week she helped me with coupons--I cut, and I cut some I didn't want, gave those to her and she glued them down on paper at the table while I cut and sorted.
That's clever with the coupons. :)
Usually I wrap birthday gifts while my DH is loading the kids in the car (to go to the birthday party! LOL).
But your coupon idea inspired this thought . . . What about tearing off little squares of wrapping paper and letting your DD tape them to an empty box? So she has her own thing to "wrap". Or let her decorate a card with crayons or stickers while you wrap the gift?
My DD loves to "help" me with things too. Two year old girls are just so amazing aren't they? I just love having those mommy/daughter moments. But it is tricky of course when something actually needs to be accomplished!

I wrap after they are asleep as well...
And I don't do one marathon wrap session - as I purchase gifts, I wrap them...That way, they are all done by, say, 2 days after Thanksgiving!!!
Thanks--I will probably end up wrapping after she goes to sleep mostly--just not what I wanted to do--she goes to bed at 9:00, and I am tired after that. Daytime is only a one hour nap and it seems like I am always getting other things done.
I like the idea of getting wrapping done right after Christmas--I'll be on the ball for that next year.
Jalapeno--good idea for the box with tape, paper, and stickers. She might like that!
