Hi,
I am new to this board. We have recently decided to go forward with a sibling group adoption from colombia and are just getting started in the process. We will be first-time parents. Can you recommend books you found helpful, either adoption-specific or parenting in general?
Thanks!
I'm still reading this book, and I find it a very good complement to the Hague training class we received:
Adoption Parenting: Creating a Toolbox, Building Connections.
I would love to hear another suggestions as well :-)

Attaching in Adoption by Deborah Grey.
Learn all about attachment. Also pay closer attention to writers that will admit that attachment is a two way street. As it might also take awhile for you to attach to them as them to you. This is glossed over so much. But its just as important in my opinion.
The Connected Child by Dr. Karyn Purvis, Dr. David Cross
The Spirited Child (not specific to adoption, but it's my favorite parenting book at the moment) by Mary Sheedy Kurcinka
LifeBooks : Creating a Treasure for the Adopted Child by Beth O'Malley
I also like the Adoption Toolbox book.
This is not a parenting resource, per say, but I LOVE China Ghosts by Jeff Gammage. It's a father's story of adopting two daughters from China. He has a great perspective that really gets you thinking.
