:cheer: you must be foster care certified to adopt thru foster care. Thats why its called foster/adopt. You become a foster parent and they try to place with with you only the kids that they believe might be coming up for adoption. Call your local social services.

Actually in most states you don't have to be foster care certified to adopt through the foster system. Parents who are straight adopt are only matched with children who are already legally free to be adopted. I'm going to be licensed as a foster home so that I can do infant placements. We aren't planning to take a child over the age of 5 unless they are part of a young sibling set, and then we would be willing to go as high as 7 or 8...I think...lol still have a long way to go before we get to that part :)
