Mommy! Watch This!!

Sounds very cute from this side of the fence! Our little guy was delayed with her verbal express skills, and I had to laugh the other day after the chatterbox's grandpa muttered something about, "and you were afraid he'd never talk!" Mine isn't driving me up a wall (yet) with the incessant talk, but he IS frustrating me when he seems to think two other people in the same room cannot carry on a conversation that doesn't completely involve or revolve around him! So he starts yelling and tugging at me, saying, " It's MY turn to talk Mommy! I want to say something."... We're working on him being more patient and waiting for me to be finished before he interrupts.

LOL :) It's mostly very cute from this side too. It is nice to a get a break every now and then though. Of course my DD is most insistent and persistent at those times when I can't really watch what she's so excited about (like when I'm driving). A few weeks ago her phrase was "where are we going?" She would ask it over and over (although again it had NOTHING on the current "Mommy watch this!"). So she and I went to the store one morning and the whole way there she asked where we were going. I answered the question many many times. And I had her tell me many times what the answer was. So I knew she had our day's itinerary down. But it continued on into the store. At that point I just needed to focus on my shopping and so basically ignored her. She pleaded and pleaded wanting to know where we were going. I'm sure I looked like such an awful parent - totally ignoring my poor daughter who only wanted to know what was coming next. Ah well. :) That's why this forum is nice. I can come here and get my silly little frustrations out and then I'm ready to jump back into things with my kiddos! :arrow:

I thought that our 3 year old had coined that phrase. I understand where you are coming from.

Oh! that's so cute.

We get "where are we going" and "why are you not going" (at a red light ALOT). If I ask him the same question, he answers. And it usually puts and end to or at least slows down the inquiry. Gotta love these little ones!

I can totally relate ... DD is 4 1/2 and has been doing the "watch me" for a long time now. She is very athletic so she is doing cartwheels / splits / flips over the furniture... etc. I am really proud of her but after the 1000th cartwheel it isn't as exciting or interesting to watch. And I am sure I look like an awful Mom cause I just deadpan say .. ."that is great sweetie" for the 1000th time back! But she is also a "PLANNER" -- MAJOR planner and has to know what we are doing next , after school, b4 bed etc and I get those questions of the order of activities non-stop. But like Gs_Mom said, if I ask her to tell me what I said we were doing, she normally can and that does slow down the inquiry. But this is a DAILY conversation.
