HOWDY ALL,
I'm jus new to this journey, and really excited as my husband and I are completing the steps to adopt two kiddos. We have steps 2 of 6 done. Next week, we meet with a gentleman from our agency, and we do our training in the last two weeks of June. Then tha home study.... and THEN we can try to get these two kids... it's the strangest thing... we're excited but trying not to get **toooooo** excited until it's official.
Any tips for surviving these early stages?

Waiting is the worst! You'd think that with more practice I'd get better, but nooooo!
Being prayerful is the best advice. :) Also praying for your future children, whomever God chooses to place in your family.
Think about doing those things that will be more difficult after children arrive, like rearranging all the cupboards in the house, paint projects, cleaning the garage, etc. If your church or community has activities perhaps now is the time to enjoy a few months of those programs as you'll find that your time is not your own when you have kids (or more, or younger, kids).
For instance, we keep to a fairly predictable schedule, with a "strict" bedtime observed every night except Fridays. So all those evening programs are not doable for us right now. Maybe in a few years when the kids are all older....

I'm very much in the "what can i DO to help things along stage" we filled out everything we can until training starts... now we have a month ot get the house ready til home study (approx) but only 2wks til training. I'm so muy pumped.
It seems to take forever at times, and at other times... it seems to be flying by. LOL
Mostly, I'm just awed and amazed we're even on this journey. I love watching God open these doors and things fall into place. He connects the dots so much better than i would. :D
