So about a month ago I decided to send off for non-identifying information from the adoption agency Children's Home Society where I am adopted from. Today I finally got back that information. This puts me one step closer to finding them. The next step is getting $300 together to get the agency to start the search for them. Hopefully someone is already looking for me or they will be interested in finding me. I just can't wait.
These are some of the main things I found out in the letter today, all current as of 1985:
My birth mother was 16 years old, she wrote poetry, loved ice skating, played the flute, sang, and loved animals. She had a sister who played the piano, a sister who play the violin, and a brother who played the guitar. On my birth mothers side there were quite a few family members who were allergic to perfumes and soaps. I found out some good medical history witch may come in handy down the road. She was only 5 feet tall with light brown hair and blue eyes.
My birth father was 21 years old, he liked football, wrestling and rock music. He worked in the family business at a machinery place. He was 5 feet 7 inches with blond hair and blue eyes.
The main two points I never knew, and am the most thrilled to learn:
My birth mother, at the time of my birth, had a 14 month old daughter! Can you believe it! I have a sister out there.
Also, my birth father was opposed to the adoption and wanted to keep me. "He was not able to develop a plan whereby he could parent his child. It was necessary that his parental rights be terminated by court order." So hopefully he is looking for me, or will at least be willing and/or excited to meet me!
Well that's it, I'm super excited and ready to meet them all. Any tips or help with the process from anyone would be great!
