'Makes me sad' thread

I closed the thread. Deleted the "I'm taking my toys and leaving the sandbox" post by Bethany.This is so lame - grrr

Thanks Brandy. I wasn't sure whether to delete Bethany's post or let it go and see where things went, so erring on the side of caution I left it. In general, do you want those stomping off posts deleted?

Yes, as a general rule, we do remove those. They really serve no other purpose than to get in one last 'word' and then users are all "awww don't leave!" and it turns into a stupidfest. Anyway, short answer, yes - Goodbye threads = deleted.

Ya, the stomp off posts just do more harm to the site than good, so we delete those.We have left up those where say someone says "Now that our adoption is final and I find myself rarely here, I wanted to let you know I'll be thinking of you all but don't plan to be here much" etc. It's really the anger and bashing members or the site that we delete.
