Hi all
I am hoping someone can give me some general info. We have four bio children and would be interested in adopting a sibling group of up to 3 children. Does Colombia allow large families to adopt? We would be interested in children to the age of 6-7yrs.
Thanks for any info
Yes! Especially if you are looking at larger sib groups or special needs.
Here is a blog from a family with 8 bio kids that adopted 3 siblings from Colombia you can check out

No. We didn't wait at all. Approved and matched at the same time, however I think lately there has been a slight wait for younger siblings.
If you are adopting a sib group of 3 or more the wait from approval by ICBF to Referral has gotten a little longer than when Donna adopted. The referrals used to be immediate. NOw they are taking a few months, but MUCH quicker than the 4 years for a 0-2 year old.

We are in the process of adopting three siblings 0-6. (Waiting for approval). Our agency has told us to expect the normal wait for approval (anywhere between 1 and 5 months) and then a referral in 5-6 months. We don't have kids, but I think I remember reading that if you have young children in the home, our agency (or perhaps COlombia?) still allows you to do children 6+ or a sibling group of three or more, but not a sibling group of 2 0-6 or an infant.

I think ICBF is pretty open to different families. We are currently waiting for a sibling group of 3, 0-6 and we have two children in the house (2 and 6, almost 3 and 7). We requested that our current oldest remain the oldest.
