$1M Suit Against NJ from a Birthmother

If I'm correct, the adoptee is a member of this group. I remember the video on the news that she posted and the picture looks like the same person only a little older. I know how much the girl wanted to know her mom and it was really hurtful for her that her birthmom wouldn't have anything to do with her. I just wish I could remember her name. I just remember her being very upset her birthmother was doing that. I think it's wrong personally that the information people want is denied them in adoption of the "closed" era. They say that the records were closed because the birthmother's wanted it that way. WRONG! Most girls who gave up their babies weren't raped! Most of us didn't have a choice in the records being closed. It wasn't to protect us. It was to protect the adoptive parents from having to deal with us after they got our children. Most of us eventually wanted our child to come find us and a lot of us went looking for them and are still looking for them. That woman putting her face on the news and on tv and wherever else she's letting her picture be put isn't hiding from anyone. She's got her face right out there. It's ridiculous. If she wasn't anonimity then stay out of the papers! Sue if she has to but put a fake name, a veil over her face whatever she has to do to stay hidden! Personally? I think she's wanting all the attention and it's probably getting her charged up getting it regardless of how she's getting that attention. She's trying to play the "poor me" card so she can get all the attention she can get and milk this for all it's worth. Yes getting raped is HORRIBLE and then getting pregnant too? I couldn't imagine it. I'm sure she's a nut case over it. I know I probably would be. But what she's doing is wrong. She just wants attention or she'd keep her face and real name out of the papers. Hi Rylee -- I'm the same person. Although that is my bmom's picture, she's not the one suing. I would like to reach out to the adoptee whose bmom is suing because, as you can see, I've been there and am there. Besides this article, my bmom went on the news about 1 1/2 years ago and a few years ago her husband put an editorial in the paper calling me a predator. I can't believe that she's still milking this and getting media time. I mean, it's been like 12 years or something! At least this time didn't hurt so much. Besides a minor eating binge, I wasn't too affected! This Tuesday (7/21/09) is a rally in Philadelphia which I'm looking forward to. I hope that the weather holds up. Elaine

Wow, do I feel dumb. lol I just remember your telling your story before and seeing that picture but like I said, I forgot your name and (slap in the head coulda had a V-8 lol) there you were. My brains are so mush these days taking care of my mom and the heat and all the other stuff going on. I just remember feeling so bad for you and what you were going through and having your birthmom doing what she was doing. I can't believe for a person who wants to be anonymous that she has her face plastered all over the place talking about her wanting to stay anonymous. lol I hope you find that other person going through what you're going through. You could both relate to each other and what you're both going through and be a support. Sorry for not remembering your name and that you're the one who was having your mom doing that.
