Hi,
Our USCIS approval will expire in December and we know we will not have a referral by then and will need to apply for the one time free extension of approval of our I-171H.
We are adopting from a Hague country so completed form I-800A.
For those of you who have requested this extension, did you re-submit the entire I-800A application, or just Supplement 3 - Request for Action on Approved Form I-800A.
Of course along with an updated home study.
Olive123,
I'm in the exact same situation as you are. Did you find out whether or not to file just the supplement or the entire I-800A?

Did not get a response back, but we shoudl have our updated home study back and ready to submit in about 2 weeks. I am going to submit just the portion to get extended approval and not the entire form again. Will let you know how it goes...
Zoe,
Just wanted to let you know, we submitted just the Supplement 3 portion of the I-800A to request our one time free extension of approval. It must have been okay - we received fingerprint appointments in the mail today.
Olive,
Your homestudy update that you did for your 1-800a extension: what was involved in that?
Did you have a home visit? Did you have to have new medical exams? What sort of new documentation did you have to produce for it? New criminal clearances or child abuse clearances?
Have you had your fingerprint appointement yet? Did you get the extension yet?
Hi,
We did have to get our homestudy updated, required for an extension of I800A approval. Our social worker came to our home for one visit to meet with us and update our home study information. We had to provide documentation of our current financial status and we also had to get our child abuse clearances updated because they were more than 12 months old at the time of our home study update.
We had our USCIS fingerprint appointment on December 28th and received our extended I800A approval in the mail this Monday (January 11th).
