IL birth index?

I don't know if this will help. To my knowledge, there is no Il birth index online. You might try a search on ancestory.com to see what you find there. Also, try [url=http://www.familysearch.org]FamilySearch.org - Family History and Genealogy Records[/url] to see what show up. It's not much but might help you some. Do you have any idea which county she was born in? Not all Il counties have searchable records on line, but some do. Cook county is one you can search online, but it isn't complete. You can find a geneology link on the Cook county court clerk website. Cook county is the only one I am really familiar with, but I think some others also have birth records you can search. Try geneology sites to find them. I know it's a lot of leg work and a shot in the dark, but you never know what you will find. Good luck.

I honestly have no idea what county she is from. All I know is that she is from a "suburb of Chicago". I'm in CA so searching for someone in IL is a bit tricky. I'm also not 100% positive on her name. I have a few names for her and I know that she used false names when pregnant. I'm guessing on the Susan T. Johnson in the hopes that that is her REAL name. It could also be Susan T. Carter or none of the above. I'm actually thinking that looking for my birth grandparents might be easier. I know that sometime in 1970 they moved from IL to a small town in WI and that my maternal birth grandmother was an art teacher in IL. I also know that my mother had 4 sisters and one brother. I've been trying to figure out how I can use that angle...

Chicago is the county seat of Cook County. You might start with the court clerks website that I mentioned above., Try both her name and her parents and sibblings. You will have to register, but it's simple. If you like I will see what I can find since I'm already registered. PM me the other names.
