outgrowing baby tub--what's next?

The newest "baby rings" attach to the side of the tub and are very big and awkward. I always just used the older seat rings that have a risk of drowning -- but htey have a risk of drowning IF YOU LEAVE YOUR CHILD ... I am of the mindset that my baby isnt going to drown if I am sitting there playing with her ... so we used a ring for about 3 months or so. Then she was strong enough to sit without it.
