Does anyone know a good cream or lotion that I can just as I pump to keep my breasts from being so sore and cracking?
I finally got my pump Wednesday and started pumping Wed night. Saturday I thought I was getting droplets. I got one good droplet everytime I pumped on each breast. Sunday and Monday it was hit or miss if I got a drop but I am not even sure if it is even milk or what.
At first, I used the medela lanolin cream. Works well. You could lower your suction on your pump too and that might help with the soreness.
You are likely getting drops that are clearish or yellowish? That is normal at first.

Hello,
I had this problem too (I actually threw out a bunch of pumped milk because it had so much blood in it!) and asked Lenore about it. She said if there is any lingering soreness, cracking or bleeding then the pump is set either too fast or more likely to high of a suction setting.
To help it heal, I was use pure organic shea butter - then if it does get in any milk or droplets it is safe for baby to ingest.
