I'm brand new here, 3-5 weeks away from the birth of our baby girl, and I'm excited and overwhelmed all at once! Issue at hand is breastfeeding - it's a non-negotiable for me, but in reading the protocols I'm seeing meds play a huge part. I'm not thrilled with that. Has anyone achieved a milk supply without meds, maybe just with pumping and herbs? Is that possible?

I have known of people that have achieved a partial supply....usually a miniscule amount....maybe a few ounces a day? I have not really talked to people that ahve acheived a full supply that way, although I have heard of one person through the grapevine. The pumped, hand expressed and took herbs...and they did the pumping hand expressing thing every 90-120 minutes. from start to start. That is an exhausting schedule. If you are committed enough though, it is possible.

I tried to do it with pumping and herbs, and it did not work at all for me. I finally got milk with domperidone. Used it for 3 months then weaned off it and kept supply.
