Hi to all and thank you for reading this. Ok, here is my story..... My and dh started the foster license process in Sept. 09, finished up our homestudy and final paperwork in March 10. Got SNAP approved about 2 weeks later. No placements, not even one call. We are not surprised as we found out after our licensing that our county doesn't place too many children. I probably should mention we went through a private agency. We are therapeutic foster parents. Not really a big deal, our main goal was to always adopt. We have inquired about a few sibling groups. We have gotten turned down for a couple. Our go to person for adoptions (don't know the abbrv yet), said that a SNAP worker was interested in us for a set of 4. So we read what we needed to read about them and had them submit us for them. About a month goes by and we get a call for an interview. It is between us and I think 4 other families. Our adoption person is going with us to advocate for us, which I would think is a good thing. So my question is this: Now what? What should I expect? Is it really a good thing the SNAP worker sought us out for them? Is there anything I should or shouldn't say. I don't know weather this matters but I live about 5 hours from where they are. Will that hurt us? Like I said, I am new and totally confused. I just want to know what to expect. Thank you all for reading and I look forward to hearing your input.
