Blind visits??

My agency suggests we have a "blind visit" after the full disclosure meeting. The child's agency doesn't normally do those, but would consider arranging one if we felt strongly about it. We would like the opportunity to observe him briefly without him knowing who we are or why we are there (at a McD's or DQ). Has anyone had a blind visit? Was it helpful? Necessary? Any advice is appreciated!
