Read in a profile, could this be RAD?
diagnosed ADHD, on about 4 medications (for behavior, sleep and anxiety), doesn't like to sleep, wanders at night to steal food and items, likes to destroy property, agressive, pees in the house out of spite, had multiple placements in 4 years, SA in one of the homes by another foster child
gosh....i'd at least be suspicious....my adhd kid doesn't act like that....but my RAD kid does (except the sleep thing...she likes to sleep ALL THE TIME...it is a great avoidance tactic!). i'd want to know if the child has had a psych eval and what it says. i'd also want to talk to any former caregivers.

That is exactly the same list we had, right down to the number of medications. Ours is definitely RAD. A year after the adoption I discovered in his files that he had been diagnosed as RAD at age 6, then he'd never seen that doctor again and immediately (a month later) had another eval that said ADHD. Hmm....
thanks for the input. the kid in question is one that my AW briefly talked about when I had the meeting last Thursday. he is still with a foster family and not up for adoption yet but the worker said the foster family wanted a few days to think about having him moved before making the official request for it (then they'd have 2 weeks to move him). also, no parental rights left but a possible out of state relative so it would be legal risk as an adoptive placement.
