I know people have posted in the past about their accommodations while in Poland....but I was wondering if while staying in apartments you were able to use credit cards to pay for them. I am just trying to figure out how much cash to take....
Thanks
Our apartment in Wroclaw was privately owned, so we took cash for that and paid for it upon arrival. However the other apartments we used in Krakow and Warsaw were businesses, so we paid for those via credit card when we made the reservations (online) weeks before traveling.

While in Warsaw we also paid in cash. They took credit cards, but we got a much, much better price for American dollars :-) In our son's region, Sosnowiec, we stayed in a hotel and paid with credit card. Do you know where you are traveling to yet?
Cash for the apartments we stayed at. We took the money out at the ATM each week to pay. When we stayed at the hotel in Warsaw we used frequent hotel points. My guess is that most apartments will want cash - unless it is in a major city and they are part of a larger business.
Our apartment up north during bonding was paid for with cash. Our apartment in Warsaw was privately owned - we payed via paypal.

We paid by CC in Krakow for the bonding period and in Warsaw. We paid a few nights of hotels near K's orphanage for visits for the first trip and at the beginning of the second trip. The rate was better than expected, and Capital One does not have a foreign exchange fee.
