I have only used respite once before, so bear with me here.
I am currently out of town for a family event. The girls do not travel well and there are a lot of family members staying here already, so I chose to leave them in respite for the weekend. I got the name of someone from another foster parent and I set it all up myself. I sent the caseworker an e-mail with the person's contact info. I never got a response back from the caseworker. (But, I never do get responses...)
The bio parents are allowed to call the girls in the evening on my cell phone. I asked the CW to let them know I was going to be out of town. She did not. Dad called tonight and was upset that he was not told. He then called me back a few minutes later and told me he had just talked to his attorney (are they that available on weekends?). His attorney said he gets calls, so I needed to call the respite person and let her know he gets calls. I did call her and she said she would call him and let the girls talk to him.
I am just really annoyed right now. I did everything I was supposed to, right? I set it up myself, but I gave the CW all the info. Is the CW supposed to ler bio parents know?
Thanks!
Yes it is CWs job!! I am sure he was lying about lawyer to make you feel guilty. But I totally think CW should have given them the info. Yet not surprised she didn't......

I agree with Lakin on all counts. What makes me mad is that the parents get their kids taken away, and then they get all mad for things such as this. Excuse me....
