I am fairly new to the adoption scene, but it seems to me that non-LDS birthmothers do not want to place their baby in a "Mormon" family. I realize this is only because they know nothing about the religion except the untrue negative things they've picked up here and there, but it does seem frustrating. Anyone else have these same feelings/ideas/thoughts?
I think a lot of birth mothers want their children raised in the faith they themselves were raised in. Catholics often request a Catholic home for their babies, while Protestants often request a Protestant home, etc. Have you considered going through an LDS-sponsored agency?

The bmom who chose us wasn't LDS. But she knew people who were and liked them. I think that assuming that most won't be interested, is a pretty broad generalization. I think on average it's about 50/50.
Although my dd's bmom did request that she NOT be automatically baptized, and that it would be her choice. So I have raised my daughter with all the options right from the beginning. She has had to have her own testimony all along.
