Hi there. I'm a dual citizen of the US and Poland, and DH and I may be temporarily relocating to Germany next year for 3 years. I'd hate to put our adoption journey on hold during this time (we have been trying to adopt domestically independently and via foster care for 2 years), so I'm trying to revisit international adoption.
I am told that it is possible to adopt while temporarily abroad. Domestically, we were looking to adopt a Hispanic child. While in Europe, I'd like to consider adopting a Romany ("Gypsy") child. We'll consider either sex, up to about age 8 or so, learning disabilities OK.
Even though I was born in Poland, I left as a child and am not up-to-date on certain things. I especially do not know the ethnic make-up of Polish children available for adoption in Poland. Are they all Caucasian?
I'll cross-post in general Eastern European thread as well. Dziekuje!
I know that there are Roma children in Russia, Bulgaria and many other Eastern European countries. Not sure about Poland.

We were referred a sibling set of 2 Roma children in Poland when we were applying for our second adoption. We did turn the girls down. Had nothing to do with their heritage but their ages (too young!)
