so DD is having one of those jump parties in august for birthday #5. planning to include siblings, so it could be upwards of 40 kids. which is fine.
what is not fine is figuring out how to do party favors. i really want to think outside the box and not give little plastic things that get thrown away.
ideas for anything unique and/or cheap?
I just did personalized favor bags for my son's 1st birthday and then filled them with personalized m&m's. The m&m's are expensive but you could actually fill the favor bags with any type of small candy.
If you want, I can send you a PM with the website I used to get the favor bags. They were really reasonably priced .

I have a wooden box that resembles a treasure chest. I fill that with a variety of small toys and books and let each child pick one thing out. I can usually find fun things in the $1 to $2 range that are more likely to actually be played with than the usual party favor trinkets. Sometimes I come across some great things on clearance or even at a used book sale. The kids enjoy having a choice. And its easy to include some baby and toddler friendly items too.
:)
Make your own little mini thank you cards with his picture on it and a magnet on the back. Believe it or not, kids love pictures of their friends. The pics can be a face photo wallet size on a piece of card stock. Stamp some designs or put stickers(he can help too) and a "thank you for my party" or thanks for sharing my day", etc., and it will be around for a long time on the frig.
Odd suggestion ... but fun! We made handmade soap w/ an embedded horse. S party was @ a horseback riding ranch. It ended up being cheap / fun craft for us and was a huge hit w/ the kids. U could do other things inside the soap.

I LOVE this! It would be great to do as gift/favors for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and all the other times I have to give gifts to everyone in the classroom, team, etc.
HOW DO YOU MAKE THE SOAP??? Please give recipe, instructions, web site etc. PLEASE!!!
