Now that my kids are getting older, I am realizing how important it is to have a male role model in my son's life. My son is six and just started playing football. I so wish he had someone to throw the ball around with in the back yard and stuff ya know? I mean, he has my dad and my BIL but it would be nice to have a young guy who could spend time with him each week.
Has anyone ever done the whole big brother program? I hear there are about 40 kids on the waiting list in my county but I inquired about it anyway. Just waiting for them to call back.
It would be wonderful if he could have an AA big brother to hang out with. Anyone else ever thought of doing this?
I was a Big Sister after college for several years. It's a great program and I would absolutely do it if I were a single parent. What's great about it too is that it's meant for them to do day to day activities together not just special fun stuff. It's also great to establish relationships earlier in life and the kids have a go to person in their teen years if they have problems they don't want to come to you with.

Disposables have certain advantages over cloth, but both can be equally effective if you use them properly. You may want to try out both disposables and cloth to figure out which one works best for you and your baby. If you are like me, you might have a husband who is opposed to cloth because of the extra work involved.
