I found this article interesting.

The boy has a point -- the denial of his bio-father's rights led to his relationship with the mother of his child, so the courts are responsible.
MamaS,
They aren't the first and won't be the last - and he's right - it is not their fault and really the courts deemed it okay so future issues are all on them. If memory serves there were twins separated and adopted out at birth who met and married in the UK and found out in the last few years or so.
I have no doubt that there are many others that share the same story or similar, some may have found out but are unwilling to come forward - incest is an icky subject. How many adoptees from the closed era have ended up marrying a half sibling or cousin and never found out because of sealed records and the secrecy or even lack of knowledge of adoption - 6 million babies in the US alone during that era and many adopted in the same area.
Now with all the donor babies it is simply going to get worse and the daunting part for them is that there is not even court records, just the records at the clinic and I would assume their will be many cases where records cannot be found, shredded, destroyed in fire etc.
The chance of getting together with a close relative is a fear/concern/topic that is worried about by 'some' adoptees and discussed.
Kind regards,
Dickons
