Looking, MA opened it's original birth certs but only to those born before 1974, I believe (silly!). Before that, my dh had put his name in at catholic charities saying he was open to contact. Do you know if you were adopted through an agency? You can request nonidentifying info from them...sometimes the info in there can help you identify!
There is a search and reunion site on a.com where you can register. Also, I think there is one called issr (?). You may find that bfamily members have registered there.
If you were adopted thru cath charities, I have the name of a very helpful sw there...feel free to pm me. Good luck!

Thank you so much. I knew about that law and it is silly. We are waiting on a call back from someone at dcf. after that we were going to call catholic charities. we started with them and they werent very helpful so we went another route.
im not sure im ready to meet them, i just want to know more about them at this point.
thank you!
I second the checking the registers (make sure you also register). I was able to reconnect with my birthson after I found his information on the registry here at a.com. He had exactly the same amount of information you have. It was enough for me to know I'd found him (let's face it, how many baby boys born on any given day in a particular hospital are placed for adoption). I do have an additional suggestion: update your information when it changes (address, email, phone, etc.) D had registered about 5 years previously and all his info (other than his name) was out of date. Ironically, it turned out that he had lived next door to my sister until a couple months before I found him. Good luck with your search.
Yes,a.com is this site. If you haven't found the registry, look at the top of this page. There is a toolbar of tabs beginning with prenant. If you place the curser on Reunite the drop down menu will include the registry, that's where you go to see if your son has registered and to register your info.
