Ds #1 they told us was fast tracked for adoption, that turned out to be...uh, not so true, and it still took 31 months with absolutely no bio-family involvement to adopt him.
Now for the baby the supervisor today told me that he's speaking to....who was it? The DAG maybe?...to see about switching this to fast track. I verified with my own worker that that would just mean they change the FG to adoption soon instead of at 13 months in placement, she said yes.
Anyone have experience with fast tracking actually making things faster?

My son was "fast tracked"- I got him at 10 days and adopted him at 17 months, but we didn't go through a TPR trial. His parents signed an identified surrender after a half-hearted attempt to work a caseplan (for all of 6 weeks). It probably would have taken longer to adopt him if there was a TPR trial.
Maybe the "fast track" is in reference to the official goal of the case? My son's goal was always adoption.
Good luck to you!

Fast track is totally NOT fast. LOL! My DD was fast tracked. She was born and mom fled the hospital never to be seen again and yet it still took about 15 months for adoption. And this was the fourth child in care. I had the other sib who still had not been adopted yet and yet another sib was in another foster home.

Why in the world did it take 31 months? Was the bio mom trying to regain custody?
I thought having to wait 15 months was crazy when the bmom was no where to be found and didn't come to any court dates.
What did they say about it taking so long?

Nope she was totally MIA at the time. Every three months judge would say, "try to find mom, try to ask who dad is" (dad is unknown) They were sort of trying to look for her but not really since he was kid #6. Then just about when we were about to have a TPR trial, she reappeared to give birth to child #7 and then they had to schedule another hearing to give her a chance to show up, now that they had contact info for her.
She didn't show so then they did TPR and then it was many months of crossed lines of communication and bureaucracy before all of our ducks were in a row to actually adopt him.
